Client

Rasmus Michau, an entrepreneur with several successful hospitality ventures to his name (most lately co-founder of The Bureau in Paris), has decided to invest in the hotel industry in 2021. His first acquisition is in Italy with the The Grand Hotel Miramare di Castiglioncello. The Grand Hotel Miramare di Castiglioncello is a historic hotel located in a village on the Tuscan coast, with an incredible history and a fabulous vibe. Toscanini, Pirandello, Rossellini, Trintignant, Risi, Gasman, Mastroianni, Visconti, even Churchill stayed here… Slated to open in june 2023 as a 4*+ lifestyle property with 67 rooms and suites, a pool, a spa/fitness, a restaurant, a bar and above all, a certain spirit of the Italian Riviera that will be revived with Joris Poggioli and Yorgo Tloupas at the helm as art directors. The General Manager will work with a team of 75/80 peoples including 7 department heads : Spa Manager, F&B Manager, Cooking Chef, Front Office Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Sales & Marketing Manager. We are looking for the General Manager who will be able to revive this sleeping beauty.


Poste

In direct contact with the owner, your missions will be as follows :

Opening


  • Follow the end of the works
  • Set up work organization and processes
  • In collaboration with the Sales Manager, pre-market the hotel

Management


  • Recruit, lead, train and coach the hotel team to improve service and to support the operational success of the property
  • Develop and nurture talent within the team and provide feedback via monthly and yearly evaluations
  • Oversee hotel staffing to ensure efficient workforce management

Operations


  • Actively seek ways to deliver a memorable guest experience at the Grand Hotel Miramare di Castiglioncello and empower and inspire the hotel team to do the same
  • Maintain the hotel environment and building to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable experience in accordance with the highest standards

Finance/legal


  • Manage stock in line with fluctuating levels of business, minimizing waste, and delivering a monthly stock report
  • Regularly report to the head office on financial performance of the hotel, payroll, invoicing and human resources
  • Maximise revenue opportunities and control costs in line with budgets, while providing added value to hotel guests
  • Cash management
  • Ensure a working understanding of legislation that governs the operation of a hotel and its activities in Italy: including employment law, health and safety, food

Sales & customer relationships


  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local strategic partners and third parties including but not limited to local government, resident associations, tenants & industry associations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting them during their stay
  • Ensure the e-reputation of the hotel




Profil

With a Master Degree in Hospitality, you have a minimum experience of 10 years in the luxury hotel industry in a managerial role.

You have a General Manager position with a background in F&B. With a real appetite for lifestyle, you know the new treands and expectations of high-end customers.

With a solid managerial experience, you are comfortable with the unpredictability of an entrepreneurial environment.

You enjoy being in a dynamic 'hands on' work environment. Open and positive team leader, you demonstrate an affinity with Italy and its creative industries.


You speak Italian and English fluently.
